Lucozade Advertising Review

Lucozade Advertising Review + Reflection
For this assignment we had to create a short advertisement. First of all we had to come up with ideas that we could put into the advert, we had to think about where we was going to film it and who was going to be in it. We came up with the idea to have someone running around on a pitch playing football and looking tired when trying to kick it, the person in the advert then drank some Lucozade and was able to score a goal and run around as much as he wanted to.
I think that getting the person in the advert to do run around being tired then drinking the lucozade and scoring is good as it shows us that Lucozade is for giving people energy, it is really getting the message across. Another good thing about the advert is that we were able to get the right shots in the right amount of time and a story is told well.  Another good thing about the advert is that it is simple and easy to understand, there are not a lot of things going on it, in it, and you’re just looking at one person.
A bad thing about the advert is that the lighting can be different in the different shots so it would go from being light to abit dull. If I was to do this again, I would make sure the lighting was slightly the same and that I would put more people into it to show the different effects within drinks.  Another bad thing about the advert is that, it was all done very quickly as the weather wasn’t too good and it looked as if it was going to rain. To avoid this happening again, we could have filmed inside in the sports hall.
There were a few issues within the group as part of the group would not turn up to help put input into it, so the advert was not made up to what I would like it to look like. Also, a person from another group had to be in the advert itself as people from this group did not turn up. To ensure this doesn’t happen I would have had to make sure I have a plan B and there were back up people that could be in the advert, if there were ever problems with people coming in from this group.
There were a few issues with filming as there would be a few objects in the way of the shots or the football would come to close to the media equipment. To ensure this doesn’t happen again I could have told the person who was kicking the ball to aim it away from the equipment. Also I could make sure there is nothing in the shot that shouldn’t be there before I start filming.
The advertisement technique used in the advert is Promise of benefit. This technique is used as it is saying that if you drink lucozade then you will be good at football and it gives you that right amount of energy to score goals and be better than everyone else who doesn’t drink it.

Cheryl Cole: L'Oréal Casting Créme Gloss Advert, February 2012
Colours-  the packaging is pink and white and in the begging we see Cheryl  in a pink room playing with shiny sheets to resemble the effect of the shampoo on hair she is also playing with soft crème cushions  to resemble the effects of the shampoo on hair.
Shots – close up and mid shots of Cheryl with the product, flicking her hair and speaking to enhance the shine and softness of it basically saying use this product and you will look like Cheryl Cole
Celebrity endorsement – the use of Cheryl Cole in the advert is quite a significant as she is a symbol of what most women would like to look like and by buying this product there’s a chance you can
Script – the word super is commonly used to enhance the way in which they describe the product also she uses very descriptive words to describe the product to.

Advert Analysis SM

Beyonce L’Oreal Advert –
When looking at the L’Oreal Advert the colours that are used in it are the same as the packaging of the product, as it’s using the same colour scheme.
There are many different camera shots used in the advert but they are all similar and usually panning from side to side, this is done so that we keep our eye on
L’Oreal has used Beyonce in the advert so that it makes people want to buy the product because they might want to be like the celebrity.

L’Oreal Kids - Watermelon (1998) Advert –
When looking at this L’Oreal advert and the colours that are used in it are mainly bright colours that will catch the audience’s eyes, there is also text used on a black background which makes the text stand out more and it will stick in the viewer’s heads.  All the colours used in the advert match the colours of the products which is good because when the viewers think about them colours it will make them think about the product.
There is often close up shot used throughout the advert so that the viewers can have a good look of the product and what affect it gives on the children’s hair. There are many quick shots used in the advert to keep the viewers interested in the advert.
The text in the advert is very simple so that because the product is for children that the audience for it will understand what it is saying and as it is saying words like ‘cool’ and ‘shiny’ it will make the children really want to buy the product.
